You’re doing everything right. So why does it feel like you’re falling behind?

It’s the strangest feeling. You wake up every day, work yourself to the bone, and try to make choices that build a secure future. You manage the bills, show up for the people you love, and do your best to navigate the chaotic worlds of dating, marriage, or raising kids.

None of these things feel like mistakes while you are doing them. They feel like being responsible.

Yet, so many of us are quietly running on fumes, wondering why the bank account doesn’t reflect our effort, why finding the right person feels like a minefield, or why constant anxiety keeps eating away at our peace of mind.

We try to fix these things with human strategy. But the truth is, you cannot handle life’s deepest battles with a faith that has gone to sleep.

When your spiritual life becomes inactive, everything else starts to drift. But when your relationship with God comes alive, that transformation flows naturally into your physical health, your career, your mental well-being, and everywhere else.

How do you shake off the dust, so you can experience a true, undiluted relationship with God, and unlock the doors that have felt shut in your face?

If you want to live a life that pleases God daily and experience real miracles—whether that means healing in your body, absolute peace in your mind, or flourishing in your relationships—you have to realize that God’s power is not a thing of the past.

“Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.” (Psalm 119:89)

His promises do not have an expiration date. What He said about your provision, your purpose, and your protection is settled forever.

“Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have founded the earth, and it stands.” (Psalm 119:90)

Just like the sun never forgets to rise in the morning, God never forgets to be faithful to you. So why do we still find ourselves trapped in cycles of lack, broken hearts, or stress?

It happens when our faith becomes quiet, passive, or asleep. A dormant faith cannot grab hold of the vibrant, purposeful life God has for you.

1. Stop Waiting and Start Moving

True Christianity is all about action. If you want to break free from old habits, live a holy life, and see tangible breakthroughs in your circumstances, you have to respond to God by moving your feet.

“So also faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.” (James 2:17)

If you look at a person and they aren’t breathing or moving, you don’t need a doctor to tell you they are dead. In the same way, faith that doesn’t move is dead.

“Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?” (James 2:20)

“For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” (James 2:26)

When you ask God for a financial open door, a healthy body, or a restored family, you have to start acting like you believe He heard you. Step out. Change your habits. Speak differently. Move out of the cemetery of doubt and everywhere else you’ve felt stuck.

2. Put Your Authority to Work

Many people miss out on their life purpose because their faith is dormant. They have a Bible on their nightstand, but they live like victims of their environment.

Look at what happened when a military officer approached Jesus for a miracle:

“When he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him,” (Matthew 8:5)

“and saying, ‘Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.’” (Matthew 8:6)

“And he said to him, ‘I will come and heal him.’” (Matthew 8:7)

The officer knew how authority worked. He didn’t need an emotional display; he just needed a command from the King.

“But the centurion replied, ‘Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.’” (Matthew 8:8)

“For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” (Matthew 8:9)

This officer recognized that Jesus has ultimate authority over sickness, mental distress, and poverty.

“When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, ‘Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.’” (Matthew 8:10)

“And to the centurion Jesus said, ‘Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.’ And the servant was healed at that very moment.” (Matthew 8:13)

Your body, your mind, your children, and your career are all meant to be servants to the word of God. When you wake up your faith and declare His truth, things have to shift. Sickness has to pack its bags, and peace has to flood your home.

3. Open Your Mouth and Speak

A silent faith is a losing faith. If you keep your mouth shut, the challenges facing your family, your health, or your career won’t know what you actually believe.

“And Jesus answered them, ‘Have faith in God.’” (Mark 11:22)

“Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.” (Mark 11:23)

Notice that Jesus said you have to say it to the mountain. Don’t just complain about your problems to your friends—speak God’s undiluted word directly to the obstacles holding you back.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)

4. Revive Your Declining Faith

Maybe you’ve been praying for a breakthrough for years. You’ve been trying to find the right spouse, trying to scale your business, or begging for a health miracle, and because nothing has changed, your faith is running on empty. You feel spiritually anemic.

That is exactly where Abraham found himself. He was old, his body was tired, and the promise of a child seemed impossible. But God gave his faith a sudden boost of supernatural energy.

…as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. (Romans 4:17)

God can make something out of absolutely nothing in your life today. He can take a dead business, a broken heart, or a failing relationship and breathe new life into it right now.

The gap between where you are and where God wants you to be is not a matter of intelligence; it is a matter of active faith.

Start taking God at His word today. Turn away from the distractions of compromise, focus on pleasing Him daily, and watch how He causes you to excel, flourish, and eventually reign with Him forever.

Step into your divine purpose with total confidence and bold action, knowing that no matter how deep the darkness around you seems, the Lord will personally deliver you from every evil attack and bring you safely into his heavenly kingdom, just as it is written: “The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” (2 Timothy 4:18)
