Pastor (Dr.) William F. Kumuyi is the General Superintendent and founder of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) and the Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC), the third largest Christian church in the world. Well known for his unwavering commitment to biblical holiness, Pentecostal preaching and a godly lifestyle that prioritizes divine mandate over earthly ambitions, he represents a foremost face and phase of the global evangelical movement.
With a remarkable mastery of Scripture, Dr. Kumuyi ranks as one of today’s strongest expository Bible teachers. He does not preach about God’s Word — he preaches God’s Word — and does so in a manner that engages his audience and ensures a clear understanding for all, irrespective of educational status. Dr. Kumuyi’s passion for soul winning has taken him across the length and breadth of Africa and other paths of the world to bring the saving gospel of Christ to those who need it.
In 1973, while serving as Math Lecturer at The University of Lagos, Nigeria, Dr. Kumuyi started a Bible study group with 15 university students who had come to him requesting training in the Scriptures. By the early 1980’s, that small group had grown to several thousand, at which time Deeper Life Bible Church was formally established. By 1988, the congregation had grown to 50,000, and now has 800,000 members worldwide.
